About Samantha Bowerman
Samantha Bowerman, CMP is the President and founder of Strategic Meetings Group.  With deep expertise and an extensive background in conference planning, Samantha is a well-known and respected authority on meetings, recognized for her leadership and contributions to the meetings and conventions industry.   She is highly skilled with contract negotiations and is widely sought after for meeting planning engagements.

Prior to forming Strategic Meetings Group in 2007, Samantha was the Director of Meetings and Conferences for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the only national professional organization for all Certified Public Accountants.  During her tenure there she managed more than fifty national conferences annually, ranging in attendance from 100 to 2,500 attendees, and also managed more than 200 off-site committee meetings.

In addition to her responsibilities at Strategic Meetings Group, Samantha is also an active member of two of the most highly respected meeting planning organizations: the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), where she was President for the New York Chapter in 2006; and Meeting Professionals International (MPI), where she served as President in 2000-2001 for the Greater New York Chapter (MPIGNY).  She has received many accolades from her peers and has been awarded MPIGNY’s Planner of the Year award and the President’s Award.  

Samantha has also served on several advisory boards including the Meetings Advisory Board for InterContinental Hotels, Omni Hotels, San Diego CVB and Tourism Montreal.  She earned a B.A. from Rutgers University and has been a Certified Meeting Professional since 1996.
